Jim McNiel
President and Chief Executive Officer
With more than 25 years in the
technology business, Mr. McNiel is well positioned to guide Fifth Generation Systems in the development of its products, business partnerships and future direction. When not working with 5G engineering on the next big Zude enhancement, Mr. McNiel focuses on strategy and business partnerships. As a co-founder of Fifth Generation Systems, Mr. McNiel is the company's president and CEO and serves on the Board of Directors.
Prior to co-founding Fifth Generation Systems, Mr. McNiel was a partner with technology-centric venture capital firm Pequot Ventures. During his seven years at Pequot, Mr. McNiel sat on the boards of Netegrity, NetGear, and OutlookSoft as well as a number of other private and public companies. He was also a co-founder and executive vice president of corporate development for Cheyenne Software, which was acquired by Computer Associates in 1997 for $1.2B. During his tenure at Cheyenne, Mr. McNiel was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, business development, product management, OEM sales, and expansion into global markets. Before joining Cheyenne, Mr. McNiel was director of advanced products for AST Computer.
Mr. McNiel started his career in 1982 as a software engineer with LucasFilm Ltd. and Convergence Corporation. He currently serves on the boards of Tri-Alpha Energy and the National Neurovison Research Institute. Mr. McNiel dedicates a significant amount of his time to serving as the director and trustee of the Foundation Fighting Blindness and truly believes “There is a Cure in Sight.” A California native and a graduate of the Wharton School, Mr. McNiel resides in Long Island, New York.
Kewhyun Kelly-Yuoh
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Kelly-Yuoh is responsible for all aspects of financial planning, accounting, budgeting and mergers and acquisitions. During his 15 years of experience in the finance field, he has participated in numerous initial public offerings and other capital raises for, and acquisitions of, various public and private companies in diverse industries ranging from health care, medical devices, information systems, software, telecommunications, advertising, interactive, search and other internet-based businesses.
Prior to joining Fifth Generation Systems, Mr. Kelly-Yuoh was CFO of Reprise Media, Inc., a leading search engine marketing agency acquired by the Interpublic Group of Companies in 2007. Mr. Kelly-Yuoh also advised Daum Communications on the acquisition of Lycos from Terra Networks, after which he became the CFO & COO of Lycos. Prior to Lycos, Mr. Kelly-Yuoh held various finance and investor relations roles at eXact Advertising and Net2Phone, as wells as various equity and fixed income analyst positions at Credit Suisse First Boston, Jefferies & Company and Rothschild.
Mr. Kelly-Yuoh holds a BA in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University.
Steve Poppe
Director of Marketing
Mr. Poppe is a veteran of Madison Avenue with more than 25 years experience. He has worked with some of the world’s leading technology companies including Intel, Lotus, Lucent, and AT&T where his contributions included, among other things, marketing and strategy for emerging technologies, the internet, video conferencing, and collaborative software.
At Fifth Generation Systems, Mr. Poppe’s responsibilities include all aspects of marketing, branding, and positioning as well as the forward-thinking vision of future opportunities for the company’s rich stable of products, talent, and technologies.
Mr. Poppe is a past president of the Business Marketing Association, prior winner of the prestigious Ad Age’s Campaign of the Year, and formally associated with two of the largest multi-national advertising firms: McCann-Erickson and Foote, Cone, Belding (FCB).
Matt Wulkan
Director, Product Marketing
Mr. Wulkan is a 14-year technology industry veteran who oversees Product Marketing for Fifth Generation Systems and its flagship product Zude. His keen intuition and unconventional approach to tactical and strategic marketing is what drives his success.
No stranger to working in technology start up companies, Mr. Wulkan began his career with Cheyenne Software in 1993. Since then he has worked as a marketing professional for Symbol/Motorola, Computer Associates, Symantec, Nitorum Corporation (where he successfully led its marketing tactics that had them named Computer World’s Top 100 Emerging Companies in 2001), and MetaInfo Incorporated (where his channel marketing strategy earned him the Best of VarVision Channel Marketing Program award). Prior to joining Fifth Generation Systems, Mr. Wulkan ’s channel marketing efforts resulted in two awards from Microsoft for Symbol Technologies; Partner of the Year and Outstanding Marketing Program.
As Director of Product Marketing for Fifth Generation, Mr. Wulkan is responsible for keeping a watchful eye on the full life-cycle of its products, including product positioning, messaging, customer acceptance and product road maps. He keeps an extra special focus on delivering exceptional user experiences and continuous innovation.
Mr. Wulkan holds a BA in Broadcast Journalism and is a partner in DigitalTreeHouseArts.Com, a hybrid traditional/digital online photographic studio. Much of his recent photographic work is the product of field exploration in Alaska, Maine, Virginia, Utah, New Foundland, Nova Scotia, Italy and the South of France.
